Artur Express, Inc. today announced its industry-leading team driver pay package, as well as an East Coast bonus for solo, company over-the-road drivers.
Effective October 15th, OTR company drivers (both van and reefer) will receive a rate increase when they originate or deliver in our Eastern division.
On all loads that originate or deliver in our east division, company drivers will earn the following rates:
OTR van solo expert drivers will increase from 63cpm to 68cpm.
OTR van expert teams increase from 76cpm to 80cpm.
OTR reefer solo expert drivers will increase from 68cpm to 73cpm.
“Some of our east coast customers have agreed to temporary 4th quarter rate increases, and we’re reinvesting in our drivers and passing those along,” said Artur Express Vice President Kristi Randall
According to a recent study by Tenstreet’s Stay Metrics, driver pay is a top factor for retaining drivers.
A similar driver retention study by WorkHound concurred.
“A WorkHound survey of 12,700 drivers last year found pay was the most critical factor to keep drivers happy,” Transport Drive states.
“We aren’t hiring to fill trucks; we’re hiring for growth. We’re listening to our drivers, and we take their feedback very seriously. We’re passing along our profits directly to our drivers. After all, we can’t be ‘The Truckers’ Company’ without reinvesting in our drivers and sharing the company’s success with them,” said Artur Express President Tom Tokarczyk.
In addition to reinvesting in driver pay, Artur Express has worked to build a unique network of mostly drop and hook freight, so our drivers don’t have to spend a lot of time sitting at shippers and receivers. We’ve also worked to build freight networks that get our drivers both the home time and miles they need.
“Retention starts during the recruiting process. Offer drivers fair pay, be transparent with what they’ll be making. Give them reasonable home time expectations, and accurately present what your company has to offer. You won’t always be the best fit for every driver, but you’ll be sure you’re the right company for the drivers you’re hiring,” Randall concluded.
